Okay, I'm back to 100% health and fishing again. Just completed
2 day outing with Mr.
Mathew from Alabama. Mr.
Mathew wanted to experience
the best of both worlds. Meaning he wanted to fish both
Toho and
Okeechobee. We started out
Monday morning fishing Lake Toho.
Water temp in early A.M was 69 degrees warming to 72 as the
morning progressed. Mr. Mathew
wanted to just go fishing and stated he was really looking for
numbers. Well, numbers he got ! We fished the middle of the
lake, concentrating on the hydrilla
edge with Watermelon/Green
Pumpkin (Yamamoto color 912)
Senkos. No real big fish and
never really had a shot at one, but we did up with several 4 and
5 pounders. We ended the day
with a grand total of 57 fish, with Mr. Mathew catching the
most most.
Fished Okeechobee Tuesday,
and again Mr. Mathew wanted
numbers. We started our day throwing crank baits at the mouth of
several cuts running out from the rim canal to the open lake.
Caught quality fish this way
with the biggest being 6 lbs. but it was one little point in the
rim canal that really produced for us. Mr.
Mathew caught 31 schooling
size bass off that one point alone. All his fish were 1 to 2 lbs
, but he caught a lot of them
and numbers is what the man wanted and numbers he got.
Okeechobee is really getting
low so be careful when venturing out. I used the ramp at
Slim's and went out on my
trolling motor. No problem.
Just be careful !
